
Mike Kirch will be live in concert on Friday September 11th at 8 pm for a free show.
By day, Dr. Mike works as a clinical psychologist in High Point, NC. On some evenings, he might be found playing original folk music in local coffee shops, schools, retirement homes, camps, churches and libraries. Dr. Mike is a native of Binghamton, NY where he started in music during third grade. Since, he’s tried a number of instruments ranging from acoustic guitar and harmonica to washtub bass and jaw harp. Dr. Mike has done presentations entitled “The Life-Rhythm Experience” during which he talks about homemade percussion instruments and then engages the audience in interactive drumming activities. More recently, he has been organizing a number of original songs, each with its own special story, to be performed for audiences of all ages. Dr. Mike, has composed over 60 tunes in the folk, blues, and old-time categories; a number of them made especially for children and the young at heart. .
